Q: I'm not comfortable applying online. Can I still mail in my application like the previous years? A: Of course! Snail mail is always accepted. The instructions and mail-to addresses for each specific event are on those Event City's applications. You must download the application and then follow the instructions.

Q: Why do I have to download the application if I'm applying online? A: The downloadable application is where the sketch area lives. You will need to draw up your flying machine here, save it to your computer, and upload this sketch to successfully apply to Red Bull Flugtag.

Q: What happens if I push "Apply" without downloading the application first? A: To successfully apply online for Red Bull Flugtag, you must complete the online application form and submit your sketch at the same time. You must complete your sketch on the application, meaning the application must be downloaded before you apply.

If you push "Apply" without downloading the application first, you will spend time filling out the online application form on Step 2, but all this work will be lost when you realize your sketch isn't ready to upload at Step 3. You won't be able to successfully submit your application at this point, nor will you be able to save your work on the application form.  Instead, you'll need to return to the Apply page, download the application, complete your sketch, push "Apply", and restart the online application form.  In short, download the application first!

Q: What if I don't have my sketch ready? Can I still apply? A: No, you must have your sketch ready and finished before completing the application process. Uploading your sketch is the last step in the process, and the only step that guarantees a successful entry.

Q: Is there a registration fee for Red Bull Flugtag? A: No. Red Bull Flugtag is 100% free to enter and attend.

Q: What if I want to apply to more than one (1) event? A: That's great! But you must still apply separately to each event. Events are application specific, so you must download each individual application and apply separately to each event.

Q: What if I want to send multiple applications or sketches to one (1) event? A: The more the merrier! Please remember that teams are selected by a panel of judges, so applying multiple times with the same sketch and team concept will not help you.  However, if you have multiple ideas for a flying machine and team concept, please feel free to apply for every one.  Remember that you must apply separately for each submission – all team information must be filled in and the sketch uploaded each time.

Q: Do I need to have all my team members' information in order to apply? A: No. All we need at this stage of the application process is information highlighted by a red asterisk. This is the required information to apply.

Q: I am trying to upload my sketch, but it's saying the file is invalid. A: Please double check to be sure you are uploading acceptable file formats within the acceptable size limitations. Acceptable file formats are JPG, GIF, PDF and PNG, and files can be no larger than 5MB.
