Event Recap Voinovich Park was teeming with 30,000 screaming spectators when local team, Rover's Flying Glory, broke the US Red Bull Flugtag record by soaring 78 feet into the Great Lake Erie. Their historic flight landed them a first place finish as well as the People's Choice award.
"I can't put into words... I'm shocked that we won first place, we broke a record, and we won the people's choice award. So we have to thank Cleveland and all the listeners that gave us the support to win two awards - that's pretty cool," said the fearless pilot Duji, a morning DJ on 92.3 Xtreme radio station.

However, Rover's Flying Glory faced stiff competition from last year's Red Bull New York Flugtag's champions, Team Aerobus, who flew an astounding 63 feet. The craft was built by a team of high schoolers and their science teacher as a summer project.

"I think we did an awesome job. We beat last year's mark by 30 feet," said Kirk Marshall. "It's a great opportunity to show what they can do against professional builders. We didn't come in first, but who cares? It was a lot of fun."

The crowd though was won over by the Joy of Birth, a craft in the shape of a cow that actually gave "birth" to the pilot. The audience favorites were rightfully awarded the titles of Most Creative and People's Choice.

Never to be forgotten, the third place team, The Stork, was a sight to be seen as five grown men took the stage wearing only bonnets and diapers while they danced, jiggled and flew. Their brave antics and self-deprecating humor were heightened by the crowd's hoots and hollers.
